Walking and cycling

On May Day in 1602, Elizabeth 1 picnicked with Sir Richard Bulkeley of Beaumaris besides an oak tree at the summit of One Tree Hill. The tree became known as the Oak of Honor. At the top is a successor to the historic oak, planted in 1905.

There is also a gun emplacement from the First World War. A beacon (and a telegraph) were used here by the East India Company and during the Napoleonic Wars.
